Yilan River
In early 2025, I found a painting in Yilan, northeastern Taiwan, depicting Japanese individuals conducting a geological survey along the Yilan River. This resonated with my own self-built camera, which uses distance measurement to create images. Inspired by the painting, I decided to photograph the Yilan River from its source to the estuary, presenting the work in three sections: upper, middle, and lower reaches.
As a first-time visitor to Taiwan, and because my photography is based on measured data, I was prompted to observe every detail along the Yilan River with precision. I used this data to integrate my feelings into the work, expressing this indescribable experience through my images.
